In celebration of Women's History Month, Bay Area's rising star soul-sensations, Nzuri Soul pays tribute to one of her most influential & iconic soul singers of all times, Gladys Knight aka "Empress of Soul". Nzuri Soul will be preforming a soulful rendition of classic hits made popular by Gladys Knight & other iconic soul divas that have path the way for so many others. With her 6th headlining appearance & Sold-Out shows at Yoshi's Oakland, Nzuri Soul will be accompanied by her amazing entourage of talented musicians ready to take you on a soulful ride aboard the Midnight Train to Georgia and back to remind you what’s “REAL SOUL” got to do with it!

Also appearing as her Special Guest will be the incomparable, SHELDON WHITESIDE with his wonderful rendition of Marvin Gaye Classics.

Nzuri Soul is a R&B soul-rock singer based in Oakland, California who has made a name for herself over the course of her eight-year career in the music industry with her powerful vocals, songwriting and entertaining stage presence. She has released three full albums as well as a “Christmas in Egypt” holiday album. Nzuri is no stranger to performing at iconic California venues like Oakland's Fox Theatre, House of Blues Los Angeles & Las Vegas, The Fenix Club, The Empress Theater and now returning for her 6h headlining show at Yoshi’s Oakland. Nzuri Soul and her band have been awarded NCEM "R&B Band of the year" 2018 & 2019, "Entertainer of the year" 2019, 2020 BMA " R&B Female singer of the year" and "Best Female live performer". Nzuri is also a well-known Author with her release of her novel “Egyptian Chronicles” earlier this year and is also the proud co-owner of Blocko Vegan Tacos. Nzuri Soul and her Band is known for being a tight knit, all in dance party and her shows is always dedicated to the fans that have kept her career a thriving success.

Sheldon Whiteside is a R&B singer/songwriter originally from Columbus, Ohio who has now made his home here in the Bay Area. His smooth vocals, enchanting tone and thoughtful lyrics will ease you into a melodic daze.
