SPICE 1, born Robert L. Green, Jr., is a prominent figure in West Coast hip-hop, known for his raw storytelling and uncompromising gangsta rap style. Originally born in Texas, he later moved to Hayward, California, where he began carving out his reputation in the rap scene. His stage name, Spice 1, is said to stand for Sex, Pistols, Indo, Cash, and Entertainment, reflecting the themes he often explored in his music.

Discovered by Bay Area legend Too $hort, Spice 1 quickly rose to recognition with his self-titled debut album in 1992. The record reached #14 on the U.S. R&B chart, and its standout single, “Welcome to the Ghetto”, earned widespread acclaim for its vivid portrayal of street life. His music, often described as hard-edged and fatalistic, captured the harsh realities of urban existence with biting analogies and unflinching honesty.

Spice 1 followed his debut with 187 He Wrote (1993), a darker and more nihilistic project complete with simulated gunfire, cementing his reputation as one of gangsta rap’s most formidable voices. He continued to release a string of influential albums throughout the 1990s, including:

• 1990-Sick (1995)

• The Black Bossalini (aka Dr. Bomb From Da Bay) (1997)

• Immortalised (1999)

In the 2000s, he remained prolific with albums such as The Last Dance (2000), Playa Rich Project (2000), its sequel in 2002, and Spiceberg Slim (2002). Unlike many artists who faced backlash for releasing music at such a rapid pace, Spice 1 maintained consistent sales and a loyal fanbase, adapting his sound to the times while staying true to his roots.

Though he never fully reached the mainstream heights some believe he deserved, Spice 1’s legacy lies in his uncompromising authenticity and his ability to capture the struggles and realities of street life. His career, marked by collaborations with numerous prominent figures in hip-hop, stands as a testament to his enduring influence in the genre.

JERRY LAW is a fast-rising comedian hailing from Oakland, CA. Beware! His style of comedy is raw and real. Jerry Law's journey from "the cage to the stage" is truly inspiring. Spending 15 years in prison and then making a name for himself in the comedy world is no small feat. His story is a testament to resilience and the power of humour. Sharing stages with legends like Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence, and Mike Epps at the Oracle Arena is a huge accomplishment. You can also catch him on Comedian Earthquake's "Quakes House" on Sirius XM Channel 96 on Kevin Hart's LOL Network 1.

It's amazing how he turned his life around and kept his promise to his brother.
