Shai is an American vocal R&B/soul quartet that rose to prominence in the 1990s. The group met and formed on the campus of Howard University, influenced by the vocal stylings of Boyz II Men and Jodeci.
The group remains best known for their 1992 debut single "If I Ever Fall in Love," which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Other big hits include the songs --"Baby I’m Yours" and "Comforter" - which both peaked at #10.
In 1993, the group won an NAACP Image Award (Outstanding New Artist), and they performed at Bill Clinton's inauguration along with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. Additionally, Shaiappeared on The Arsenio Hall Show, The Tonight Show and an episode of "Family Matters "
Men of Vizion
This urban quartet combines the RNB basics of harmony and soul to produce a sound characteristic of '90s R&B bands. Men of Vizion produced several R&B chart singles such as "House Keeper," "Do Thangz," "Break Me Off" From The Hit Movie "Trippin"and "Do You Feel Me" feat Mr.Cheeks(The Lost Boys). Some more of their well-known songs include "You Told Me You Love Me," "Forgive Me," and "That's Alright."
Touring and performing nationally, Men of Vizion has been compared to such ReB legends as Boyz II Men and Babyface. Their demo tape impressed Teddy Riley, who then introduced them to Michael Jackson. The group was signed to MJJ Music in 1993.
