After two sold-out headline performances, Raquel Jeté returns to Yoshi’s Oakland for her third engagement, and this holiday season she brings something new. The Harlem Standard is the debut of her newest project: an elegant evening of big band jazz that transports audiences to the Harlem Renaissance.

More than a concert, The Harlem Standard is a destination. It celebrates the artistry, sophistication, and cultural legacy of one of the most influential eras in American history, when musicians, writers, and performers defined excellence for generations to come. 

Raquel performs her original songs reimagined in classic big band style alongside nostalgic jazz favorites, with a few special guest surprises along the way. Drawing on her roots in musical theater, the evening weaves together live music, movement and theatrical storytelling, all set against the art-deco elegance of a classic supper club. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best 1920s and ’30s glam or evening wear and step into another era. Think Harlem Nights, The Great Gatsby, or Old Hollywood.

About Raquel Nicole Jeté

Theater director, singer-songwriter, and creative producer Raquel Nicole Jeté has built a multifaceted career spanning 20 years in the performing arts. Equally at home in the spotlight and behind the scenes, she is known for her commanding voice, compelling storytelling, and live experiences that leave a lasting impression.

An East Bay native, Raquel blends Jazz, Soul, Gospel, and Folk into a signature sound she calls “Acoustic Gospel Soul.” Her influences range from Sarah Vaughan to Lauryn Hill, and her performance career has taken her from New York to Los Angeles and around the world. She won the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night, starred in multiple musicals, and toured as a guest entertainer with Princess Cruises. 

The Harlem Standard brings it all together: the elegance of jazz, the craft of classic theater, and the joy of a special night of fellowship, all to the glory of God. More than a single show, it is a growing platform with plans to grow into a recurring Bay Area residency and beyond. It is the next chapter in a career built on one belief: excellence is the standard.
