after nearly 25 years, lydia pense and cold blood, have embarked on a resurgent cd and tour project. popular in the mid 70’s with 5 albums to show, lydia and cold blood reflect a blend of “blue eyed soul music” reminiscent of the bay area funk music genre, led by tower of power. originally signed by the legendary rock impresario, bill graham, cold blood was a mainstay at concert venues like winterland and fillmore west during the post “summer of love” years. with the success of its 5 albums, cold blood developed a national and international following with hits such as “you got me hummin’”, “funky on my back”, “down to the bone” and “i just wanna make love to you”. the band's sound today is rooted in it's original sound, but with a contemporary feel. backed by a powerful rhythm section and a dynamic horn section, the legendary lydia pense continues to deliver an inspiring blend of funk, soul and blues. many say she is a cross between janis joplin and aretha franklin, combined with a powerhouse, tight horn band.

on tour, cold blood anticipates tapping into the existing base of loyal fans throughout the west, but also to those fans that live in the us and abroad. cold blood’s music, both old and new, will also appeal to the new generation

of younger and crossover audiences who are looking for a tight, rhythm and blues sound reminiscent of the old school soul. the band also is ideal as an opening act for major concert venues.
