LEE HILDEBRAND’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND BENEFIT
Music writer, editor and drummer Lee Hildebrand passed away on January 24th, two daysbefore his 79th birthday. He was well-respected for his deep research, knowledge of and wide range of writings and liner notes about soul, blues, gospel, jazz and more for the SF Chronicle, Oakland Tribune, Bay Guardian, Living Blues, Downbeat and The East Bay Express where he served as music editor. Lee was also known as a versatile drummer who played with Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, Louis Myers, Mark Hummel, Ron Thompson, Mark Naftalin and many more.
