About Elevate Oakland:

Elevate Oakland is a nonprofit committed to ensuring that every Oakland public school student has access to culturally vibrant art and music education during the school day. Our mission to provide students with opportunities to engage in dynamic arts and music programming has led us to partner with more than 30 public schools to meet a wide variety of needs for more than 3,000 youth, ranging from the provision of musical instruments to designing and supporting music and arts curriculums in partnership with school staff and facilitating opportunities for students to learn and perform alongside local professional artists musicians.

Our work centers on underserved and marginalized students and youth in Oakland public schools whose music and arts programs have been most impacted by budget cuts, systemic barriers and inequities and general lack of resources. By nature of our programming, we aid and partner with public school educators while supporting local artists and creatives financially as they provide instruction and mentorship for our students.
