Afro-Cuban Mambo, Cha-cha-cha, Boleros & more

After Larry Vuckovich’s performances and experiences with some of the greatest Latin percussionists in the world, Jose Mangual (formerly with Charlie Parker and Erroll Garner), Frankie Malabe, Pete Escovedo, Louis Romero, John Santos and Hector Lugo, Larry formed his Latin band, La Orquesta El Vucko, that included Louis Romero and Hector Lugo. Yoshi’s Wednesday, May 8th concert, will include swinging Bebop, Brazilian, World Music, besides the hard-hitting Afro-Cuban jazz, plus funky boogaloo blues rhythms. Both Jackie Ryan and percussionist Hector Lugo, who also has a beautiful voice, will sing some famous boleros, cha-cha’s + more. The rest of the band includes a powerful rhythm section with Larry on piano, Buca Necak, bass and Jeff Minnieweather on drums. This is a program not to be missed!
