CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND

Doors: 7:30 PM   Show: 8:00 PM

Concord High School is taking over Yoshi’s for ONE NIGHT ONLY. Make sure you buy tickets for what is sure to be an incredible evening. This is a great performance opportunity for our students, an amazing fundraiser for our program, and a fun night out for the adults! Here’s a rundown of the evening…

The Concord High School Jazz Ensemble II will open the night! They are the introductory jazz course at Concord High. These young, motivated musicians have worked hard throughout the year, excelled in competition, and are excited to kick off the show.

A fun surprise of the evening is we will be featuring the Concord High School Alumni Jazz Band! Alumni in this band have performed and graduated from music programs at Sac State, Cal State East Bay, UC Berkeley, UCLA, San Francisco Conservatory, California’s Jazz Conservatory, Diablo Valley College, and the US Marines.

In addition, we will have a current student/alumni combo performance. Led by senior drummer Daniel Oleole, these musicians have been working hard at their craft, and are so excited to come together for a killer performance.

Our penultimate performance will feature the inaugural El Dorado Middle School Jazz Combo. El Dorado is Concord High's main middle school feeder, and has never had a jazz combo before. These students have learned a lot this year, are highly motivated, and have even been able to get a jazz ensemble class confirmed at their school next school year. This will be the first time El Dorado has had an official jazz ensemble class in over 10 years.

The night will close out with the Concord High School Jazz Ensemble I. They’ve competed at competitions throughout the state, and are a force to be reckoned with. Outside of competition, Jazz I loves performing for their home crowd and the Concord community, making their musical selections span a variety of genres. These high schoolers pack a musical punch and are one of the top high school jazz bands in California.
