genre-blending sound that fuses pop, rock, R&B and Latin rhythmsCÓRDOBA
Doors: 7:00PM Show: 7:30PM
Armando Córdoba brings a genre-blending sound that fuses pop, rock, R&B and Latin rhythms into something entirely his own. After years spent honing his craft as co-leader of the Salsa band Avance, and collaborating with artists like Sheila E., Santana, WAR and Al Jarreau — and earning a Grammy Award for his work on Pacific Mambo Orchestra's Tropical Album of the Year — Córdoba stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with his latest release, O Tú O Ninguna.
Holding down the foundation are founding members Ernesto Kindelan on bass and Christian Pepin on drums, the rock-solid rhythm section that's driven Córdoba's sound from the very beginning.
This time, Córdoba is bringing a whole new energy to the stage. For this special performance at Yoshi's, he's unveiling the new faces of CÓRDOBA — a powerhouse lineup ready to ignite the night: musical director Katherine Hedlund driving the sound, percussionist Braulio Barrera and horn player Bill Ortega Jr. bringing the heat, and guitarist David Lechuga blazing in all the way from New York to join the charge. Together, they're not just backing the songs — they're reinventing them, injecting a bold, revved-up edge into every track for a sound audiences have never heard from Córdoba before.
It's set to be a fun night, with new and familiar sounds for the audience to enjoy.
